This study, commissioned by the European Parliament’s Policy Department for Citizens’ Rights and Constitutional Affairs at the request of the LIBE Committee, is aimed at assessing the state of implementation of gender mainstreaming activities in the parliamentary work of the LIBE Committee and, particularly, it analyses the adoption of a gender mainstreaming and intersectional approach in LIBE’s legislative and non-legislative work in the 2021–2022 period.

Der Europäische Sozialfonds (ESF) wurde gemäß dem Vertrag von Rom mit dem Ziel geschaffen, die Mobilität und die Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten der Arbeitnehmer zu verbessern. In der Folge wurden die damit verbundenen Aufgaben und Durchführungsbestimmungen geändert, um den wirtschaftlichen und beschäftigungspolitischen Entwicklungen in den Mitgliedstaaten sowie den auf EU-Ebene weiterentwickelten politischen Prioritäten Rechnung zu tragen.

Als Reaktion auf die wiederholten Aufforderungen des Europäischen Parlaments, unionsweit einheitliche Regelungen vorzubringen, um die grenzübergreifenden Tätigkeiten gemeinnütziger Organisationen zu erleichtern, hat die Kommission eine Richtlinie über europäische grenzübergreifende Vereine vorgeschlagen. Das Parlament soll auf der Plenartagung im März über den vom Rechtsausschuss (JURI) vorgelegten Bericht zu diesem Vorschlag abstimmen.
