Predstavitve

Odbor lahko organizira predstavitve s strokovnjaki, če so potrebne za delo odbora v zvezi z določeno temo. Predstavitve lahko skupaj pripravita dva ali več odborov. Večina odborov organizira redne predstavitve, saj na njih lahko prisluhnejo strokovnjakom in z njimi razpravljajo o pomembnih vprašanjih. LIBE

On 20 February 2020, the LIBE Committee will hold a hearing on artificial intelligence in criminal law and its use by the police and judicial authorities in criminal matters

CULT

The CULT Committee hold a public hearing on "The use of Artificial Intelligence in education, culture and the audiovisual sector" on Wednesday 19 February 2020. Five experts were invited.

PECH

The objective of this hearing is to listen to different stakeholders about the current challenges facing the aquaculture sector, notably linked to production. The speakers include fish farmers from varied realities, ranging from sea-based aquaculture in the Atlantic and Mediterranean to the ponds of the Czech Republic. Other speakers include researchers and entrepreneurs involved in developing innovative practices, from Hungary, Belgium and Croatia.

TRAN

Four experts from Portugal, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Belgium will debate with TRAN Members on the role of public transport in low-density areas. They will raise the specific characteristics and challenges faced by those areas and the resulting importance of services ensuring mobility. The hearing should provide an overview of good practices and case studies and would outline possible recommendations (logistics, pricing policies, etc.) for the future.

LIBE

The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) of the European Parliament is organising on 19 February 2020 a Hearing on the Implementation of the Dublin III Regulation.

AGRI

The public hearing taking place on 18 February focused on EU support for Innovation in Agriculture: first, within the Common Agriculture Policy and the AGRI-EIP and second, in the EU Framework programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon Europe) and the future Mission “Soil health Food”.

Public hearing on authoritarianism and shrinking space for freedom of expression, press freedom and human rights defenders, with case studies on China, Egypt and Russia

This hearing will examine the state of international law on freedom of thought, conscience and religion and study lessons learned from past policies and actions that have contributed towards its protection. Participants will also discuss best practices of interreligious dialogue for promoting tolerance and fighting against discrimination based on religious motivations.

IMCO

With the digital revolution and in particular the ever growing online shopping sector, we notice a shift in advertising, moving from the traditional concept of a "consumer" to the "user" of websites, online platforms and social media. Users are often subject to targeted advertising that can influence their choice and constitute profiling. While advertising via traditional channels has to abide by strict rules, digital advertisement is vastly unregulated.

ITRE

On 23 January 2020, from 10:30 to 12:30, the ITRE Committee held a public hearing on the Strategic Planning of Horizon Europe with a focus on the Missions and Partnerships. This hearing was organised in light of the current work towards the design of these large funding priorities for Horizon Europe and the finalisation of the first Strategic Plan of the next Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

On 23 January, the BUDG committee will hold a public Hearing entitled "Own Resources and Fiscal Policy harmonisation: Untapped potential for synergies?", under the chairmanship of the two own-resources rapporteurs Mr José Manuel Fernandes (EPP, PT) and Ms Valérie Hayer (RE, FR).
