TRAN study - Trends, challenges and opportunities in the EU transport labour market
The overall objective of the presentation is to provide insights into the recently published study "Trends, challenges and opportunities in the EU transport labour market". It considers major trends in EU transport labour market in terms of number of jobs, job structure by age, workers’ skills, working conditions, shortage of workers and attractiveness of the occupations.
On 20 March 2024, during the PECH committee meeting, the Policy Department for Structural and Cohesion Policies will present a new study entitled "Policy options for strengthening the competitiveness of the EU fisheries and aquaculture sector".

Members heard interventions from Commission speakers and external representatives on issues connected to enforcement. The Federation of European Data Protection Officers, the Fundamental Rights Agency and the Center for Democracy & Technology, which represents a civil society perspective participated.

On 19 March 2024, from 15:00 to 16:30, the FISC Subcommittee will host an exchange of views with the Commission, OECD and the UN to discuss the state of play and the future of European and international tax policies.
IMCO Members discussed with Mr Enrico Letta, former Italian Prime Minister and President of the Jacques Delors Institute, the main findings and preliminary recommendations to be included in the High-Level Report on the future of the Single Market, which is to be presented to the Council in spring. The main stakeholders were also invited to take part in the discussion.

The LIBE Committee had an exchange of views on an alleged fraudulent visa scheme existent in Poland, which, according to media reports allowed privileged access for some applicants from third countries to visas that allowed them to enter and circulate in the Schengen area.
On 14 of February, the LIBE Committee held an exchange of views with the Commission, Italian authorities, and a legal expert on the migration and asylum Protocol signed between Italy and Albania.
The European Platform on Combating Homelessness ("EPOCH") was established by the European Commission in March 2021, as part of the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan. Launched in June 2021 through the Lisbon Declaration, the Platform aims to eradicate homelessness by 2030 by promoting person-centered approaches, exchanges of best practices, and evidence-based strategies.
During the LIBE Committee Meeting of 14 February, Members and guests had the opportunity to exchange views on the aftermath of Pylos shipwreck and continued reports of violence at the Greek Sea borders.
